Trust Me

Key Passage: John 12:37-50

Topic: Faith/Trust; Jesus

And Jesus cried out and said, "Whoever believes in me, believes not in me but in him who sent me. And whoever sees me sees him who sent me." (John 12:44-45, ESV)

You know, Jesus didn't shout very often. At least it's not recorded that way in the Bible. But here He shouted! He had something to say, and He didn't want the people to miss it.

"Trust me! Trust me, and you're trusting God too."

This long section focuses on what the people around Jesus believed and chose not to believe, even when they saw all the miracles and wonders He did. These things pointed out that Jesus was exactly who He said He was: God in the flesh, here to rescue us from sin.

Jesus wasn't just a man who made big promises; He was the Son of God. All He'd done, everything He'd said and promised was backed up by God the Father. He can be trusted!

When you trust Jesus, you're putting your trust in God. Not in a man who made outrageous claims, but in the God-Man whose every word and action was underwritten by God Himself. When you put your confidence in Jesus, you're putting your confidence in God. He made everything and He holds it all together. (See Colossians 1:15-20.) If He can do that with the universe, He can be trusted with the details of your life too.

So, no matter what's going on with you today, if you're looking for the right person to trust, there's no one more worthy than Jesus. Don't miss His words--trust Him!
