Can I be sure God loves me?

Some people say you can't be sure of anything but death and taxes. I don't think that's true. There is one thing that I am sure of--that's God's love for me. Sometimes it's hard for me to believe because, if I'm honest, I've done things that would cause even my mother to disown me if she knew about them. Can you relate? Yet the Bible says, "But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners" (Romans 5:8, NLT).

God doesn't leave you and me wondering if He loves us; He proved it by sending Jesus to pay the price for the things we've done wrong. And He did it while we were still doing those wrong things. God knows everything about us--and He still loved us enough to give us His Son. God's love is unchanging and lasts forever. You and I can be sure of that!
